Up close

This is the view that my bottle gets. By which, I mean to say, I'm HUNGRY, here! How about some food? Maybe a nice sandwich? Oh, why, yes, of course! Dad's finger will do nicely!

It's so difficult being a model

I thought I'd go for a sorta wistful look in this one, implying the depth of my thoughts. Which, at the moment, are about a snack I once had. But a wistful snack.

Did you know that I have a neck? It's new! It was hiding under my second and third chins, but they are going away, so now I have a little neck!

Wow, Squeaky Bunny! Those are some mighty big ears!

Hey Froggie, the camera is over there! You have to look at it for the photo!

New Skillz

I've been spending a lot of time working out at my gym. I've been working on reaching out and pulling -- good for the biceps and the deltoids.

I'm also doing a lot of yoga, which has been particularly fun of late, since I just discovered that I have feet!

After a good workout, I'm always famished!

Nap Time

So, many of my faithful readers write in, asking "Lela, you're so active! Don't you ever take a rest?" Well, generally, no, but on rare occasions, I like to have a little lie-down, really just so mom and dad can recuperate a bit for some more fun!

Santa Monica Pier

Mom, Dad and Grandpa took me to the beach for the first time, and then to the Santa Monica Pier, which is an amusement park. I found it all most amusing!

Do you like my snazzy swimsuit?

Not quite sure what to make of all this sand and water. Maybe we'd better head up to the pier!

Luckily, I was just tall enough to be allowed on the rides, as you can see.

We went on the big, old carousel, which was really fun!

And then, to round out the day, I cooled off with a nice, big Icee drink! What a great place this is!

My First Manuscripts!

My dad studies really old books -- books even older than he is, if you can imagine! His friend Christine is a curator at the Getty in LA, and we went to check out her new show. I got to see my first medieval manuscripts, there!

Here's Christine and Dad and me, outside the show, by a sign with a funny looking guy growing out of a plant. He's singing, because all the books were musical books.

I really liked this HUGE page! It was way bigger than me! And it had all these nice patterns and pictures on it.

Overall, we had a great time! I can't wait to see more manuscripts. Maybe dad will take me to look at Beowulf, one of these days....

My LA Debut Party!

HELLO, LA! Tell the paparazzi to back off, baby!

My Aunt's Arika and Cindy threw me a grand debut bash, and we had lots of family and friends out. I got to meet lots of people, and it was really fun! I got pictures of almost everyone there.

Here I am, happy and smiling with my Aunts Ari and Cindy! They're awesome! When I get a little older, I am going to try to get them to put me on a TV show!

Aunt Cindy grilled for hours and hours, and everyone was well fed. I tried to get her to grill me up a bottle of milk, but that didn't work out....

Here's Grandma with her two sisters, Great Aunts Shelle and Judie.

My dad's cousin Candice and Richard.

Nancy and Kimmy, uh, my dad's uncle's sister and her daughter! (Where's Alyssa? She was really sweet!)

Cousin Jim and Great Uncle Harry.

Great Uncle Jeff is really fun!

Dad's oldest friend, Christine, Grand Did, and Dad!

Three medieval art historians..?

Everyone was so cool, so I tried to keep up! Mom and I are looking good!

All that partying really works up an appetite!

Luckily, there was some food at hand, so I didn't have to eat off Grandmim's fingers!

All in all, it was a blast! Thanks for coming, everyone!

Flying to LA!

I just got back last night from a GREAT trip to Los Angeles! This was my first time on a plane, and my first time out of Arizona, and it was really exciting! I also got to meet a lot of people in my family and lots of my parents' friends, too. Everyone was super-nice to me, and I can't wait to go back in November for Thanksgiving, whatever that is.
We got to get on the plane early, and I got to sit next to my dad all the way. You can tell that we are still in Phoenix, here, by the blazing bright sun streaming in the window next to me!
As you can see, I thought it was all great fun!
But maybe a bit tiring... I hope that Southwest doesn't toss me on the baggage carousel, since I was tagged like a piece of luggage...

Stay tuned for photos of my big LA Debut!

Are you lookin' at me?

I've started to work out a lot -- mostly push-ups. When I master this, I should be able to roll over. Then, it's only a matter of time before I am making my dad run all over the house, trying to catch me!

Surfing

I'm getting really exciting about going out to LA in a few days! I am thinking of learning to surf while I am out there. What do you think? I think I'd be a natural!

Jan van Baby?

So, I was thinking that maybe I'd be a great artist. I painted myself in this portrait, in hommage to Jan van Eyck:
What do you think? I think I'm cuter than him. He looks so serious, all the time.

Reading with Mom

Oops! Dad caught us snuggling on the couch, reading One Fish, Two Fish, Read Fish, Blue Fish! That's my favorite book, but Dad keeps reading me Beofish, or something like that...
