University Farm

Mom and I went to the University Farm!

[Sniff!] Mmmmmmmmmmmmm! Fresh, ripe peaches, right on the tree!

I think I'll try this one!

Ready?

Ahhhh---mmmmmmmmm!

That was great! Now what? Hey! Are those...

Cows! Holy Cow! In person!

Um, they're really big. Much bigger than they look in my books. And smellier, too. And there is no way one of those things could jump over the moon...

Ved's here, too!

So, you all remember my good friend Ved, right? From my old town? Well, a bit before I moved out here, he did! He's just a few hours away, so we swung by to pay a visit!

Here he is with his Dad, Rahul -- aren't they like twins?

We all hung out and had some tasty food that Ved's mom, Namrata, cooked up for us! Mmmmm! Spicy!

[Ved]: Thanks for reading the story, mom but where is Lela?

Peek-a-boo!

We went over to the park, and had a lovely swing. It was a short visit, but a fun one, and we'll have to go back soon!

Santa Cruz 4

We played a lot in Santa Cruz!

Dad taught me to play this funny little game called Foosball!

Really, though, the best fun was just sitting around with those cool people! Joy read me book after book!

Lefty O'Dog-Dog listened in, too!

Sometimes, it's nice to just read a quiet book to myself.

Yay! Thanks for a great say, everyone! Come up and visit us soon!

Santa Cruz 3

Chris, Joy and Georgia have a great backyard, where we whiled away the whole afternoon!

Chris and Lefty O'Dog-Dog played lots of frisbee.

Check out the action shot, catching the frisbee! Go Lefty!

Then Georgia and I picked apples from their tree. Georgia was really sweet to little old me. I like her a lot. I even tried to dress like her.

Here's one more apple!

Do you have enough of them, yet? I could get more!

We had such fun, and I climbed all over Dad and gave him a big smootch!

Ewwww! Dad-cooties! Gross!

Thanks for having us over Chris, Joy & Georgia! See you again soon!

Santa Cruz 2

We stayed with Chris, Joy, Georgia, Lefty O'Dog-Dog, Daisy, Tara, a hamster and a tank of fish! They were all wonderful, and we became great friends! What a fun house!
That's Lefty next to me. He was just sleeping on this big pillow. Boy, that looks comfy... Should I...?

Ka-BOOM! Oh, yeah, this is the life! You dogs have it made!

Hmmm... I'm a bit peckish, after all that lying about. Wonder if I can find something in the kitchen...

Ooooh! That looks good! A whole, giant bag of tiny little cookies, and right there on the floor!

Maybe a bit of dinner music to add to the ambiance?

Oh, fine, I'll sit up here and eat my Cheerios! But those other little cookies were so tasty! Never had anything like 'em.

Santa Cruz 1

This weekend, Mom, Dad and I went down to Santa Cruz to see some of their old friends (I don't mean that the friends were OLD, though to me, well, there are things in the fridge that are a bit older than me, I think, so everything is relative...).

I heard that we were going to the California Beach! I was, of course, expecting something like this:
But it turns out that the Santa Cruz beaches are rather chillier!

I had to be bundled up, with my collar up against the wind, even! And in August! Aunt Ari would have been most unhappy with this beach!

Still, sand is sand, and I got to bury myself some, so that was great fun.

Dad took me for a nice stroll by the water, which was really great, too.

Oh! And did I tell you? I got a dog!* His name is Lefty O'Dog-Dog! And he is the best! What's that, boy? Up in the sky? What is it?

Wow! Look at that pelican! Like a pterodactyl flying by!

*[Editor's note]: Dog on temporary loan for weekend, not permanent member of the family.]

Slipping into something comfortable...

Just thought you'd like to see my new choice in footwear!

So comfortable. A bit roomy, perhaps, but I'll grow into them.

In 10-15 years.

What is THAT?

I was playing out front with Mom the other day, and she almost sat on an alien from outer space!

What is THAT?

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. And I live with Dad. So that's saying a lot.

Mom called it a Praying Mantis, and says it's a bug. But I'm sticking to my alien theory.

It's on you, Dad! Run!

The woods are lovely, dark and deep

Dad's friends Alun and Carol were out here visiting from England, so we drove out toward the coast for the day to see them.

I'm the one behind Mom's head. Nice job, guy we asked to take a photo of us ALL.

The backpack! I haven't seen this thing since Phoenix!

That way, Dad! Mush!

Head onward! March!

And what a beautiful place we headed! This is Muir Woods. So beautiful.

Alun and Carol are really great. They were so nice to me. And neither one barfed on the windy road we had to take. It was a bit close, though.

Time for me to stretch my legs (and for Dad to take a break for a bit).

I took a quick run to get in my cardio.

Holy cow, those trees are tall.

I found a few kids, and tried to play with them, but they ignored me. The nerve!

Alun, will YOU play with me?

Why, sure, I'd be happy to discuss your re-location of Bodley MS 614 to Battle Abbey! Fascinating!

Hey Dad! I like these folks! Good find!
