Golden Gate Park

After the zoo we went over to Golden Gate Park!

What? I'm just chillin' in the park with my homeys. The pigeons. Just like my pal, Bert, does.

Here you go, guys!

Dad, gimme some more bread, will ya?

Sorry fella! We're all out! Next time!

Beach

While we were down in San Fran, we hit the beach!

It was so chilly!
What a strange thing to walk on!

I like it!

Mom and I took a nice stroll!

Look at those happy, relaxed parents! They must have the best kid in the world!

Wow! I hope I look like Mom when I grow up!

Or like Dad! That'd be great, too! All that walking worked up a good appetite! Good thing we had stopped in Chinatown on the way over!

And as sun set, we headed for home!

Roller Skating!

Some friends and I met down at the local roller rink (shout out to the Houles!)!

The gals there were just great!

Are you sure this is a good idea, Mom?

Oh, well, if Matthew is out there, I guess I'll give it a shot!

You wanna head over there? Ok, let's go!

Check out my dance moves!

Ooooh, yeah!

These things are so HEAVY, Mom! Time to pull them off!

Woo-hoo! I can run like the wind! My feet have never felt so light!

Then, we all learned the "Chicken Dance." Apparently, this is all the rage with the kids, these days.

Finally, the boys took me for a nice ride on the carousel! Quite a morning! We'll have to go back soon!

SF 8: Giraffe Barn

Boy, I got a good nap in. Er, what's that noise..?

Zoiks! Giraffes!

I think we should have one of these at home so I can always wake up to him!

All in all, as you can see, a very exciting day at the zoo!

PS. Happy birthday Dad!
Look at this great portrait I took of you!

SF Zoo 7: Lunch and a Nap

After all that, boy was I hungry!

[Seagull]: Um, are you gonna finish that?

[Seagull]: No, really, um, are you gonna finish that? 'Cause if you weren't gonna... I'm just saying...

We saw so many great animals, and Mom loved this fellow:

But then, it was time for all good little bears to take a nap.

See?

While I slept, Mom and Dad walked around. Dad liked this one. Wow, a bald eagle!

Er, see it? Zoom in. That must be it, 'cause that's the only bird that was around! Somewhat underwhelming, really... Not sorry I slept through that one...

SF Zoo 6: Little Fellas

After hanging around with the penguins...

and with some monkeys...

We went to the kiddie zoo section, where there were all these cute little fellas!

This guy was all alert!

And then he spotted us!

But the best part of this section was this great Learn To Help Your Friends water fountain! The button was nowhere near the spout, so I would go around the corner and help Dad drink! I'd press the button to make it turn on, and then every time he'd bend down to get a drink, I'd stop! Ha! That's pretty funny!

SF Zoo 5: Giant Eland

Huh. There's some big African thing...

Holy cow! Dad, look!
[Dad]: Aahckckkthbbitt! Glass! Head! Ow!

No, really, this thing just doesn't seem real. Looks like a special effect. And it was HUGE!
No, bigger, it was GIANT! It's even called the Giant Eland! These babies weigh in at almost 2000 pounds! After carrying me around all day, Dad said that that was *almost* as much as I weigh!

SF Zoo 4: Train

The zoo has a REAL train! With a real steal engine! And it went WOOO-WOOO so loud you could hear it all over the zoo!

It even puffed smoke as we rode around!

Thanks, Mom! This is my most natural smile for photos, and I'm trying it out a lot, these days!

Thanks, Dad!

This was a GREAT ride!
