Feeding Swans

So, it turns out that the Queen of England technically owns all the swans in the country!

So Pink Bear and I thought we'd help our fellow royalty out by feeding them for her!

Under the trees

Next to the church by market square, there is a nice big tree we like to eat lunch under!

Giraffe-y likes to eat the tree's leaves!

And down by the Cam, there is a huge willow tree, and we like to go there to sit under it! Ack, Dad! No kisses!

CB2

This is CB2, our local cafe down the block. Mom and Dad liked the free wifi (a rarity in England), which meant that I got to have ice cream while mom and dad did their computing!

Pretty good system, huh?

Getting Around

In Cambridge, they have a FREE BUS!

Judy the bus driver was so nice to me!

And we took the trains everywhere!

Trains are good places to eat!

But of course, there is no way to travel better than my good ol' push chair!

Back home

Well, pip pip, tut tut, and tootle-ooo! After a wonderful summer, Pink Bear and I are back in Cali!

We had a wonderful time! So many adventures!

And it is a good thing that Pink Bear is machine washable...

It went by like magic! But we have lots and lots more photos, so I'll be posting them for a while, even though we're back, so keep checking in!

'Round Town

In case you thought we'd spent the whole summer galavanting around outside of town, here are some photos of us galavanting around, in town!

Lela In Wonderland

Just outside Ely Cathedral is a little path. We heard a few little girls say to their moms, "We're going to see Alice at Wonderland!" And off the went. So we followed!

Punting!

So, my Dad's Mom's Cousin Karen and Charles have old friends in Cambridge, and they suggested that we all get together. We had a LOVELY tea at Robert and Nicky's house, and then they suggested that we all go punting! Their son Joe is a professional punter, so he took us all out for a spin on the Cam!

They showed me all the great sites, like the Bridge of Sighs!

It was too cool!

I wonder if Joe knows that there are Crusaders approaching behind him...

Then Robert showed that young whippersnapper how it's done! We had a great time! Thanks so much for the tour! It was great to meet you all, and we'll see you next time we are in town!

National Railway Museum

We're going to the Train Museum!!

And this is a HUGE train from China!

And THIS one is, of course, MY train! Oh, ok, it was the Queen's, but she's clearly letting me borrow it for the day!

And, after all those trains in the museum, it's time to head back to Cambridge on this blue fellow! Great trip, all around! All aboard! Toot-toot!

Shopping!

Mom took me to LUSH! I got a bath bomb that was AWSOME!

And Namma, this one's just for you!

York 2

I helped Mom check into the hotel (where they were super-friendly, and the whole place was purple!!)

And what a great view out the window!

Then we walked to the Shambles, a real medieval street, with the original buildings all over! Wow!

And check out this cake shop! Those are all cakes, even the bears in the bath!

And we rounded the day off with a lovely but chilly boat ride on the River Ouse!

York

This weekend, we stormed the city walls of York, a great medieval city up north!

As you can see, Mom and I had no trouble climbing up the battlements!

Dad, on the other hand, had no problem eating lots and lots of scone with clotted cream!

Yumyumyumyumyumyum!

And I LOVED my babychino!

St. Cat's

Pink Bear and I thought it was high time we showed you around St. Catharine's College, where Dad is teaching this summer!

This is the main court! Don't walk on the grass!!

The gardens are lovely! Oh, and see the gold wheel at the top of the gate? That's the college symbol, and it's really fun to look around for them. They are everywhere!
