Big Game

I know, I know, Dad wants me to be a vegetarian, but I've decided to be a big game hunter.
And I mean BIG game.

Grapefruit Season

Well, it's officially grapefruit season here in Arizona! We've got a huge bin of 'em from a friend.

Aahhhhhh!

Munch!

Going for a drive

To celebrate MLK Day (which has been in Arizona only a bit longer than I have), we went to the park.
I took Dad for a nice drive in my new sports car!

We had fun, especially on the tight turns!

Hey there, Lorena! Need a lift?

Hop on in!

I shall be the next Mario Andretti!

Peekaboo!

Basically, anything will work for a game of Peekaboo!

Where's Lela?

Ha! Gotcha!

I see you...

Ooops! Where'd Lela go?

Peekaboo!
They don't give this shirt out to just anyone, you know...

Target, Baby!

I'm at one of my favorite stores! They have everything I need! Just dressing for the occasion, Grandma Mim picked out this great outfit that happens to coordinate!

Humm, do you really think that all the things I'm getting today will really fit through that door?

I'm officially crawling!

The Times

Whenever I am in New York, I always make sure to pick up the Times at a news stand.
The best of journalism.
What? Quit buggin' me! I'm reading, here!
How else is a lady to stay abreast of world news?

NYC Party

You all know me -- I'm a party girl, so when we were in NYC, I threw a party so that I could meet more of my folk's friends.
These are Jaime and Kat, and they are really fun! He is writing a movie, but he can't tell you what it is about. He told me, but my lips are sealed! So Dad if you don't stop asking me about it, I'm going to have to ignore you.

These are Lily and Dan. Lily is an old friend of my dad's from high school. My dad sung the DNA song for them, because Dan works at the Cold Spring Harbor Lab!

Abe and I clowned for a while.

This is Christine and Lily -- you've all seen Christine before at Thanksgiving and at the Getty, where she is a curator of medieval art. I can't decide if I want to be a medieval curator or a medieval art professor. Decisions, decisions...

Here's me and Mom and Mom's friend Steph. She was really funny. That's Grandpa Did lurking in the background. (Nice deep focus, Dad).
And, of course, Grandma Mim was there!

By the end, I was just beat. Dad's old friend Tim (congrats on graduation!) was really comfy. He's a photographer, and took some really nice shots while he was there, but Dad caught me catching a little rest here!

Addie!

While in NY, we went to the Cloisters (Yay! More medieval art!), and met up with Michelle, Scott and their daughter Addie. She's my new friend! We had a great time!

Addie was looking at all the art with me, including this huge font!

She and I loved chatting with each other.

We were supposed to take some photos, but I was more interested in watching her...

She was all into this "say cheese" thing and giving big smiles! I wasn't really in the mood since I was so eager to see all this great art!

Addie led the way and took us around! The museum is just amazing, and we wandered all over looking for frogs, unicorns, and lions!

Dad told us all sorts of silly stories about the knights and princesses! Addie and I were enthralled, that's Addie's mom behind her.

And, surprise of surprises, we ran into Dad's friend Roger and his family. They taught together at Bucknell, and they both used to work at the Cloisters, too! What a place!

Dennis!

This is my new friend Dennis!

As usual, I was delighted to meet a new boy! He seemed a bit apprehensive...

Still, I won him over with my ladylike charms!

He's quite a looker with those bright blue eyes!

We had a good time reading a book together.

We shared nicely! That's Dennis's dad, Doug.

And this is his mom, Mary Ellen. The are all really sweet!

I showed him around the apartment, particularly under the coffee table, which I thought was just the most interesting place there. I hope I get to see them all again soon!

Karina!

At long last, I got to meet my little cousin Karina, and her parents Aunt Gail and Uncle Rob! Yay!

They came over to Grandma and Grandpa's place in the City.

We had a great time!

I'm not sure, but I think Uncle Rob is a giant!

He had plenty of room for both of us on his lap.

Notice how Karina and I coordinated our outfits so that we'd match?

It took a few minutes, after all the anticipation, to warm to each other...

But soon we were holding hands....

And happily playing together!

She and I got along great!

We played so much we just wore each other out!

I think we wore out Dad and Uncle Rob, too...
